About us

The Tabernacle of God Church was built in 1959 and has become a historical landmark located in west Baltimore in the Sandtown Development. A significant church that has an impact on the congregation and the entire community. The church has been there through several generations and survived renovations and reorganization of new homes in the Sandtown Development. In 1973, Bishop Fred Hucks Sr. was the founder and Pastor of the church for 11 years.

As a pillar in the community, the church was known to provide outreach ministry to the community and delivered people from living in "bondage." As the Pastor, Bishop Fred Hucks Sr. ministered in Convalescent Homes, Hospitals for the Sick and Shut In and assisted citizens with rental assistance. God used Bishop Fred Hucks Sr. to do "Signs" and "Wonders" for deliverance and healing. As a result, the Tabernacle of God Church was known as the "Miracle" Church. In addition, Bishop Fred Hucks Sr. prophesized that the houses in the area would be demolished and renovated, but the church would not be touched. As of today, this historical building is still standing by itself and untouched. He prophesized and it came to pass.

In 2000, Bishop Vincent Fred Sr. expired and his son, Elder Vincent Hucks, became the Pastor of the church. He continued his father's legacy with keeping the community involved with the church. On May 23, 2009, Elder Vincent Hucks was ordained to Bishop Vincent Hucks. As the Senior Pastor, he continued to give recognition to the church by creating a "Family and Friend Day" in 2011. The Tabernacle of God "Family and Friend Day" was a huge success! The Tabernacle of God Church had the congregation, friends, family, and the community singing church hymns, while the leaders were ministering to people. This little gray church left an impact on the congregation, community and well known leaders (politicians).

In 2018, a second location for the church was announced to start in Washington, DC.

Tabernacle of God Church has several different ministries including marriage counseloring, substance abuse counseloring, youth and young adult outreach and parental counseloring.
